Hello Omnivores,
If you’re lucky enough to be on the west coast in November or at the Big Ears Festival next April in Knoxville, Tennessee, you’ll have a shot at seeing the Big Star Quintet live and in person! These guys are fantastic and are carrying the legacy of Big Star forward for all to enjoy. Also, if you’re following along, you’ll know that we have worked with, and love all the guys that make up the Quintet: Jody Stephens (Big Star, Those Pretty Wrongs, Golden Smog), Mike Mills (R.E.M., of course), Jon Auer (Big Star, The Posies), Chris Stamey (Big Star Third, Alex Chilton, The dB’s), and Pat Sansone (Wilco).
Their remaining 2026 dates are:
November 2 – Mississippi Studios-Portland, OR (Sold Out)
November 3 – Mississippi Studios-Portland, OR (Sold Out)
November 4 – The Neptune-Seattle, WA
November 7 – The Fillmore-San Francisco, CA
And in 2027: April 1–4 Big Ears Festival-Knoxville, TN
To celebrate the ongoing legacy of Big Star, we’re offering up a Big Star – Big Sale! From Tuesday October 20 through Thursday October 22, take 40% off our Big Star and related titles. You’ll find Big Star, Alex Chilton, Chris Bell and Peter Holsapple (The dB’s)!
We’ll have more Big Star news soon in our Weekend Reader newsletter, so stay tuned!
Please note, the prices you’ll see in the webstore have the discount already applied to them.
