New Digital EP featuring “April Showers” from the upcoming film Change In The Air, plus two previously unissued live bonus tracks from the 1977 record Release Party for All Hopped Up.
The film’s score was composed by Terry Adams and Bill Frisell, each bringing their own writing styles. With the score nearly completed, one more piece was needed and by request from Music Director Hal Willner, NRBQ arranged and recorded “April Showers.”
For the two live tracks we take you to the All Hopped Up record release party. It’s April 23, 1977, we’re at one of the NRBQ’s favorite performance spaces, filled to the rafters with a most enthusiastic audience. The place is the Shaboo Inn in Willimantic, CT (near the University of Connecticut). Red Rooster is NRBQ’s newly formed label, and All Hopped Up is the label’s first release. So, it’s quite a party.
