Critically acclaimed singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Performed in the duo Community Trolls with R.E.M.’s Micheal Stipe before joining Stipe’s sister Linda’s band, Oh-OK. Recorded Under The Covers albums with The Bangles’ Susanna Hoffs. Contributed songs (performing with Mike Myers) in two Austin Powers films. His classic 1991 album, Girlfriend, inspired a theatrical production of the same name, featuring its songs, at the Berkley Repertory Theatre in 2010.
