Mister Rogers Nominated for Grammy Award

Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood premiered on television more than five decades ago. It’s impossible to know how many children’s (and adults’) lives were impacted by the show’s positive and meaningful messages over the years. Its staying power has never lapsed.

And today, the February 2020 Omnivore Recordings release It’s Such A Good Feeling: The Best of Mister Rogers, available on CD, Digital and a 21-track vinyl release, was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Historical Album in the 63rd Grammy Awards ceremony, to be held January 31, 2021.

Recognized were Lee Lodyga and Grammy Award-winner Cheryl Pawelski, compilation producers; and Grammy Award-winner Michael Graves, mastering engineer.

Academy®- and Grammy®-winning director Morgan Neville’s 2018 documentary Won’t You Be My Neighbor? reawakened our love for Fred Rogers, and introduced a new generation to him. With the 2019 film A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood (starring Tom Hanks as Rogers in a Golden Globe®-nominated performance), the beloved children’s TV host and his neighborhood were once again front and center in the hearts, minds, and ears of everyone.

In 2019, in addition to releasing It’s Such A Good Feeling and Johnny Costa – Plays Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood Jazz, Omnivore Recordings also issued four classic collections of Mister Rogers’ magic. Bedtime, You’re Growing, You Are Special, and Coming and Going feature a combined 60 songs from the beloved broadcaster, backed by long-time collaborator and pianist Johnny Costa, Carl McViker on bass, and percussionist Bobby Rawsthorne.

Mister Rogers would have been mighty pleased with the Grammy® nomination. It really is such a good feeling.
