JD SOUTHER

2013 inductee into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Formed the duo Longbranch/Pennywhistle in the late ’60s with roommate (and future Eagles member) Glenn Frey. Their downstairs neighbor? Jackson Browne.

Co-wrote the #1 Eagles hits “Best Of My Love,” “New Kid In Town,” and “Heartache Tonight,” as well as tracks for Linda Ronstadt, Bonnie Raitt, George Strait, James Taylor, Don Henley, and many more.

As an actor, J.D. appeared in the films Postcards From The Edge and My Girl 2 as well as television’s thirtysomething and Nashville.
