First ever career spanning Scruffy The Cat rarities collection!
Boston’s Scruffy The Cat were local heroes and college radio mainstays during their late 1980s run. An infectious mix of barroom swagger with a twang, Scruffy The Cat helped usher in the alt-country movement. Omnivore Recordings is proud to present The Good Goodbye: Unreleased Recordings 1984-1990, which features music from their origin to their final, unissued sessions—recorded at Ardent Studios.
The Good Goodbye: Unreleased Recordings 1984-1990 features a whopping 23 tracks—one originally only issued as a rare, 1989 split single with Young Fresh Fellows, and the others previously unheard until now! From demos to live performances to studio tracks, The Good Goodbye: Unreleased Recordings 1984-1990 traces Scruffy The Cat’s musical journey in a way it’s never been presented before.
Sadly, front man Charlie Chesterman lost his battle with cancer in 2013, and this collection has been put together with other members of the band to celebrate both his life and Scruffy The Cat.
For fans old and new, it’s time to say hello to The Good Goodbye: Unreleased Recordings 1984-1990!
