LES McCANN
Recorded one of the biggest selling jazz albums of all time, 1969’s Swiss Movement which included the hit single “Compared To What.” McCann’s piano playing and beats from his ’60s and ’70s albums have been sampled by hundreds of rap and hip-hop artists. In 2015, Les published the book Invitation To Openness chronicling his jazz & soul photographs taken between 1960 and 1980. The song “Compared To What” has been used in movies such as Martin Scorsese’s Casino and the TV series Lost.
