KLAUS NOMI
Nomi famously appeared with David Bowie on Saturday Night Live, December 15, 1979 performing “The Man Who Sold The World,” “TVC 15,” and “Boys Keep Swinging.” He appears in the 1981 documentary film Urgh! A Music War. Part of the East Village art scene, Nomi appeared in the New Wave Vaudeville show where he met Kristian Hoffman of the Mumps who became Nomi’s musical director. Nomi grew up listening to classical music on the radio in Germany and was equally inspired by opera and rock music. He studied voice and developed a six octave range before moving to New York City in 1972.![]()
