JIMMIE DALE AND THE FLATLANDERS
Legendary band formed in the early ’70s by Jimmie Dale Gilmore, Joe Ely, and Butch Hancock in Lubbock, Texas. Jimmie Dale Gilmore has been nominated for three Grammys, appeared as “Smokey” in The Big Lebowski and has recently released records and toured with Dave Alvin. Joe Ely has performed and recorded with Bruce Springsteen, Uncle Tupelo, The Chieftains, Los Super Seven, Willie Nelson, The Clash, and more. Artists who have recorded Butch Hancock’s songs include Emmylou Harris, Rosie Flores, Jerry Jeff Walker, Texas Tornados, Sir Douglas Quintet, and Flaco Jiménez.
