THE MOTELS
Came out of the ’70s L.A. scene, playing venues like Madame Wong’s, the Whisky a Go-Go, and the Roxy. Hits like “Only The Lonely” (American Music Awards Best Performance of 1982) and “Suddenly Last Summer” are radio staples. Martha sang the original demo version of “Take My Breath Away” before the song went to Berlin. Martha’s version can be found on Anthologyland`. The unissued until 2011 Apocalypso album won the Best Reissue in 2012 at The Independent Music Awards. Martha appeared in the movie Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure alongside guest appearances by Clarence Clemons and Fee Waybill of The Tubes.
