Extended version of “Do The Primal Thing” as a digital single to benefit the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.
From the vaults of NRBQ comes an epic, nearly 12-minute long, live, digital-only single “Do The Primal Thing (Extended Version).” Recorded live at the Fairfield Theatre Company (Fairfield, Conn.) in 2014, this track is also being released to benefit the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund.
Current band members Terry Adams, Scott Ligon and Casey McDonough are joined by legendary drummer Bobby Lloyd Hicks, with Klem Klimek (tenor sax), and Carl Querfurth (trombone) on this Adams composition that urges us to “give your phone a fling” in this information-oversaturated world.
Seeing NRBQ live always lifts the spirits. Their shows are communal celebrations that have provided audiences with the thrill of “in the moment” musical joy for more than 50 years. Now more than ever we need the magic of the Q, and Omnivore is thrilled to release this slice of otherworldly fun.
From Omnivore Recordings’ Cheryl Pawelski: “Omnivore is grateful to the mastering engineers, graphic artists, photographers, and all who enthusiastically gave of their time and talent to help realize these projects. MusiCares has always been an important safety net for our music community, perhaps never more so than now. We are fortunate to call NRBQ our friends, and proud to assist them in getting this music released in support of the MusiCares COVID–19 Relief Fund.”
Donate, here’s why:
MusiCares provides a safety net of critical assistance for music people in time of need. The COVID-19 Relief Fund has been established to help our peers in the music community affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.
